Does it happen also for you, that sometimes you are just forgetting about some plants and bulbs you planted some time ago? Well, for us it cannot be a better surprise, than when in the gloomy and rainy autumn days we notice some spectacular colours highlighting and energizing our ready to calm down garden.
It has happened again this year. The first surprise appeared in September, when the massive flashy spherical red pompon flower of Scadoxus multiflorus showed off its full glory. We like using the Latin names, but the common one a ‘Blood Lily’ brings some thrill of emotions, don’t you think?
The unusual exotic blooms entice children and pets like a magnet, but be careful, as if ingested Blood Lily can cause an upset tummy.
The exotic plants (this one comes from Africa) usually have some bizarre looking flowers, so if you are looking for the unusual dazzling plants and if you want to bring that extra wow factor, this weird looking fiery bowl of red fire is an absolute must!
After two weeks of blooming it has gone, but all the neighbours now dream about having them in their gardens. You should experience this amazing feeling of pride that your choice of plants is appreciated and desired.
The other surprise this autumn was a special sweet pink colour of ‘Isabel’, which appeared one morning in the borders. What a name for this spectacular Nerine bowdenii! She is not only easy to grow, but also produces an absolutely impressive display of intensely coloured funnel shaped blooms. You cannot stop smiling to these plants, as they brighten not only your garden, but also your day.
Basing on Warrington Builders experience we strongly recommend to bring this wow factor to the garden, especially that when you are already tired with rain and gloomy days, these species will give you a dramatic late season display.
